LOWEST TERMS
  1. A fraction is said to be at its lowest terms when the numerator and the denominator cannot be divided by the same number to arrive at a lower valued numerator and denominator.
Example:
    1. 3/4 is at its lowest terms because the numerator 3 and the denominator 4 cannot be divided by the same number to lower their values.
B. The fraction 4/8 is not at its lowest terms because the numerator 4 and the denominator 8 can both be divided by the same number to lower their values. The largest number that the numerator 4 and the denominator 8 can be divided by is 4. 4/8 => 4 : 4 and 8 : 4 => 1/2 Therefore, 1/2 is 4/8 at its lowest terms.
