ADDING DECIMALS
A. When adding decimals, line up the decimal points and then add as
with whole numbers.
For example: Add 0.2 and 0.07
0.2 + 0.07
0.2
0.07
0.27 is the result
NOTE: The decimal in the answer falls directly in line with the
other decimals
SUBTRACTING DECIMALS
A. When subtracting decimals, line up the decimal points and subtract
as with whole numbers.
Example: subtract 0.25 to 0.40
0.40 - 0.25 =
0.40
0.25
0.15 is the result
NOTE: The decimal point in the answer falls directly in line
with the other decimals.
